Multimedia

Multimedia is something that the audience can interact with, this can be things like, ipods i tunes ect.
Film or a book couldn't be considered as multimedia as the audience cannot take part, the director or author is in full control. pantomime is more interactive than film and theater.
The red button is a good example of multimedia as you can interact with TV programs, see the weather when you want and on certain red buttons listen to music, catch up on TV programmes and watch films at the time suitable for you.
Authors and directors have tried to make books and tv shows interactive in turn becoming a part of multimedia. One director that has tried this is Luke Hyams he is the wirter and director of a bbc drama called Dubplate drama shown on the bbc. At the end of the show the audience would be able to text in and pick what happens in the next show from a choice of three. This allowed the viewer to have some sort of control.
Multimedia should immerse the audience a game that does this is called the Sims 3 compared to the first and second games gives you much more freedom to explore and make the game your own. The Sims was created by maxis. The Sim's is a stimulation of real life.
